Tall Tales of History
Remember when the Romans came and civilised our land.
They gave us roads and sorted us and helped us understand.
Well even then, so I've been told, when a man still wore a dress.
He always carried a Credit Card, American Express.
The Saxons also carried them in long boats across the Sea,
and if they were not accepted they would kill and take for free.
Old Tutenkhamen had one too, to decorate his room,
he even had the logo painted deep inside his tomb.
I even heard that Martians use them, mostly early morn,
they buy their stuff then fly off, leave their logo in the corn.
Now this is speculation, I really must confess,
but Pamela Stephenson springs to mind with American Express.
The moral of the story though, is clear and plain to see,
American Express is here to stay for you and me.
